 In the second segment, Chuck interviews Lisa Miller, Executive Director of Career Connection in Dallas, Texas. Career Connection is a networking group that since 1992 has helped over 40,000 people find meaningful employment.
Lisa shares how Career Connection helps people through networking, which takes advantage of the knowledge and experiences of people in the workforce to help those who are looking for a job. Participants have access to a dynamic database of people in different work fields.
Lisa recalls her experience helping three men during the dot-com crisis. Through their interaction with Career Connection, all individuals were not only successful in finding other careers but in growing in their relationship with God.
Lisa suggests that if you're looking for a job, "google" Career Transition Support Groups with your city and state as key words to find a good networking group in your area. Many churches and some United Way branches also have support groups.
Lisa says that folks interested in starting a career networking support group can call her for advice at 214-739-7153.
